BATHING
You may find places suitable for a swim both north and south of Siljan AirPark. The bathing place south of Siljan AirPark at the Byrviken is a comfortable shallow sandy beach with pleasant water temperature. You will find the beach as part of the camping site if you just follow the road signs through Siljansnäs village. North of Siljan AirPark you will find several small secluded gravel beaches right on the beautiful Lake Siljan and bathing shoes are recommended when you go for a swim in the cooler waters of Lake Siljan. Your reward will be the breathtaking view to the mountaintops! You may reach these in two ways: Take the road direction Olsnäs and take the 2nd road to the right (Hjulbäck). You find the beaches on your left hand. Or you bring your GPS or compass, drive right through Siljan AirPark, follow the gravel road till the roundabout where the road ends and hike north the last 500 meters.

GAS
You will find one small Gas station in Siljansnäs open 24 hours, located on the main road in the direction to Leksand. Payment with credit cards is the only option. You will also find a small shop where you can buy motor oil and other small stuff for your car. The shop is closed on weekends and holidays but normally open until 6 pm Monday to Friday.

BUILDING MATERIALS
Only a few kilometers from Siljan AirPark on the opposite shore of Byrviken in Alvik/Almo you will find a sawmill, Siljansnäs Sågverk, where you can buy wood and timber.
Other building materials are found in Leksand on AB Karl Hedin Bygghandel. Discounts are granted to landowners from Siljan AirPark in both the Sawmill in Alvik/Alom and at AB Karl Hedin.
BICYCLE
Siljansnäs is a fantastic area for bicycling. If you prefer longer rides beautiful scenic biking trails are laid out all the way around Lake Siljan. A competition around Lake Siljan is arranged every year where you are welcome to participate.

FITNESS CENTRE
In spite of its modest size Siljansnäs has its very own fitness center! The owners of the hotel, Laurell, have even opened a fitness center and a shop in Siljansnäs. If you buy season tickets for one month, or for 6 or 12 months you simply get a key to the gym and you may work out whenever you feel like. Just the way it should be in the country!
KIOSK
The kiosk in Siljansnäs is situated on your left side right after you pass the church, Tempo, and the school in the direction from Siljan AirPark.
GROCERIES
Tempo in Siljansnäs is a small and cozy grocery store with a wide range of goods where you will find most of your necessities. It even has a miniature drug store where you can buy non-prescribed medicine. 5 minutes by car, 10 minutes by bicycle or 20 min. walk will take you there through the picturesque village of Siljansnäs.
Business hours are Monday through Friday 9 am-7 pm, Saturday 10 am-5 pm, and Sunday 11 am-5 pm. 12 km from Siljansnäs in Leksand you will find 3 supermarkets Hemköp, ICA, and COOP. Business hours for Hemköp are Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm, Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm.
MUSEUM
There are a large number of museums worth visiting in the Siljan area. The best advice is to check out the website www.siljan.se to get information. We will, though, point out our local sight, the Naturum on top of Björkberget in Siljansnäs. It is a beautiful exhibition telling the fantastic story of how the Siljan region was shaped, and all about the wildlife, the flora, and the geology of the region. And there is no entrance fee to the Naturum!! The view from the top of the tower has been awarded 3 stars in the Michelin Guide! Presently the access to the tower is closed due to risk for collapse, but a renovation project is on the way! It is a very old wooden tower.
RESTAURANTS
The Pizzeria in Siljansnäs offers pizzas, salads, kebab, and burgers. Opening hours are daily from 10 am till 10 pm except for Sundays where they open at 11 am. On Björkberget enjoy the beautiful view from Buffils Annas Kaffestuga located close to the hotel. Buffils Anna is open most weekends, and during the high season even on workdays. Check opening hours! If you would like to dine at the Siljansnäs hotel we do recommend that you check out their offers at http://www.siljansnashotell.se/. The Siljansnäs Hotell also offers newly refurbished rooms, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a wonderful pool with an extraordinary view overlooking Alviken and Siljansnäs town. Restaurant Bosporen in Leksand can serve you “ordinary food”, and in restaurant Bygatan 12 you can be served food from a more sophisticated menu yet still at a reasonable price. If you really want to impress your date you should go to Åkerbladhs in Tällberg (app. 40 min. drive from Siljan AirPark). They serve high-class food in a fantastic Dalecarlian setting. This restaurant has won a number of rewards! Also, Hotel Dalecarlia close to Åkerbladhs will serve you excellent food and a unique view of Lake Siljan
SKIING
Skiing facilities are situated in several places around Lake Siljan. The nearest downhill skiing area on slopes even suitable for children is Granberget, a modest 7 min.s drive from Siljan AirPark. Check out the website http://granberget.se/ for more information. 25 kilometers from Siljan AirPark Gesundaberget offers you more challenging downhill slopes and a breathtaking view. Here you will find the steepest slopes in the area. Check out the website www.gesundaberget.se for more information. Orsa Grönklitt also offers downhill slopes – check out even www.orsagronklitt.se. At all the downhill facilities you will also find restaurants open during lift operation hours. Modest 130 km from Siljan AirPark you will find – Sälen! Within 2 hours’ drive, you find yourself amidst hundreds of lifts and slopes in the most famous skiing facilities in Sweden. Sälen even provides a 1200 m long and 23 m wide asphalt airstrip, Rörbäcksnäs, which is being extended presently and therefore closed until further notice. Be sure to check your AIP before going there. For cross country skiing in the Siljansnäs area, abundant trails are offered, one of them even illuminated at night time.
LIBRARY
A limited volunteer library service is offered in the hall at Sockenstugan. In Kulturhuset Leksand on Kyrkalléen right after “Hemslöjden” a well-equipped library offers a wide selection of literature. Opening hours are Mondays through Thursdays 08:am to 07:00pm, Fridays 08:00am to 05:00pm, Saturdays 11:00am to 02:00pm, Sundays closed
WORSHIP
The church in Siljansnäs was built during the period 1867-1875. It is a Swedish Church and is open every day from 08:00 am till 04:00 pm. Services are held Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Check the website for service hours Siljansnäs Church
